For those individuals who are constantly sick and forced to make that dreaded visit to your doctor in what seems like a regular basis, optimum health could come in the form or regular exercise and a change in eating habits. It may be vital to take a sort of survey on your health.

What seems to be the underlying cause of staying in a continual state of being unwell?

Below are some questions you could write down in a notebook and don’t skimp on writing anything and everything you can think of in the way of how you feel and question yourself on your lifestyle.

Be Brutally Honest With Yourself
1. Do you eat a healthy diet or do you consume lots of fat and empty calories simply because you “feel like it and it tastes good?” What may taste good may not be good for you or be something that supports your health.
2. Do you exercise regularly? Most people think of exercise as jogging or going to the gym and lifting weights or going through a huge workout schedule.

Believe it or not, eating healthy can be delicious and not half as difficult as you may think. Cut back on red meat, eat free range chicken or turkey, wild fish (never farm-raised) and at least three servings of vegetables per meal (except breakfast) and try to cut back on all the carb-laden foods like pancakes and do your best to make fried eggs, bacon and sausage a once in a while treat.

You Are What You Eat
A perfect example of that quote can be viewed from the person who has diabetes. A diabetic is insulin resistant and must be very careful in what they consume. They constantly monitor their blood sugar through the use of a glucose meter which means they have to prick their finger or sometimes their arm to get a drop of their blood to check their sugar levels.

If a diabetic eats something with high carbohydrates or a meal full of carbs and fat, within an hour or two their blood sugar can be off the charts and so high it can become life threatening.

This example proves that what we eat directly and almost instantly has an effect on our bodies. If you are not a diabetic consider yourself lucky because you have time to reverse the potential of developing this debilitating disease.

Why wait until you become truly ill to do something positive for yourself that could impact the rest of your life?

Exercise Every Day Can Keep the Doctor Away
Sure, if you’re feeling great you don’t need medical care (except for that regular check-up) but many people feel great, do everything in excess until that fateful day when age and overindulgence catches up with you.

Have you ever noticed that “fit” people seem to have more fun? Naturally, you may feel you’d have to go a long way and work too hard to achieve any level of fitness that could improve your health but that’s not true.

You can start out with “baby steps.” Purchase some good walking shoes or tennis shoes that are built for walking and start walking. You may only be able to walk twenty feet the first day if you’re really out of shape, but keep walking that twenty feet on a daily basis, then add five more, then five more and so on until you get up to a mile.

Obviously, you should always consult your doctor before you begin any exercise regimen, but if you don’t have any serious health issues they would probably cheer you on and give you nothing but praise for taking charge of your health.

Find a ‘walking buddy’ to join you. There’s nothing better than doing something with another person so you both can support and keep each other focused on the goal; becoming fit and/or healthier.

Hanging out with a bunch of sick people in a doctor’s office is way less appealing than experiencing the company of fit and vital people who make their health a priority.

Be Kind to Your Heart And It Will be Kind to You
Nearly 54% of Americans put off exercise or simply don’t even think about it. They believe working and walking around their offices a few times a day, and to their cars, is sufficient. No, it’s not. Only 22% of Americans exercise enough to become ‘heart-healthy.’

There have been thousands of medical studies done for centuries that show how regular exercise can lower the need for medical intervention by nearly 50%. Along with strengthening your heart muscle it can lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

For those desiring to lose weight you can get a quadruple whammy. You can get healthier and lose weight.

Your heart is the engine that runs your body. Doing anything and everything possible to strengthen the most important muscle in your body and it needs exercise to keep up its’ tireless work it does for you each and every day. For the obese person who can barely walk a few feet without getting winded, it means their hearts are struggling to carry the extreme burden of all that extra weight.

Of course, we’re not dismissing or putting down the overweight because statistics show that nearly 60% of Americans are overweight or obese. Even children are becoming a huge block of those that carry too many pounds and it is making a very negative impact upon their lives.

Most likely, they won’t live as long as their parents who became overweight as adults. All they need is support, compassion and someone to give them the tools necessary to get on the path to wellness. Some will heed the call and some won’t. Our health and life is our own personal responsibility.

The sedentary lifestyles we live and the fast-food that has become second nature and brought our society to the brink of a health disaster.

According to MayoClinic.com, a 45-minute light jog can burn as much as 653 calories. Instead of watching a one-hour reality show, how about taking a 30-45 minute walk or, if possible, purchase even an inexpensive exercise bike and peddle for 45 minutes during inclement weather.

Do yourself and your family a huge favor and give them the gift of health through healthy eating and a reasonable exercise routine. Make it a family affair and sit down and do some healthy meal-planning so everyone is satisfied, then lay out a plan for some physical exercise the whole family can enjoy.

If you can afford one of the games that connect to your television like Wii, buy one, hook it up and get some of the exercise videos and make a practice of using it together a few nights per week, then on one weekend day during good weather, go on an exercise outing as a family. Your children will have a great time and doing so as a family unit will be even more of a blessing to all of you.

The Bottom Line
Eating healthy and maintaining a state of optimum health not only benefits your heart, arteries and reduces the risk of many types of cancer, but it also is known to reduce the risk and can reduce pain, inflammation and the stiffness and agony of arthritis because it increases the blood supply to the muscles.

An additional benefit could be in lowering the risk and alleviate the symptoms of anxiety and depression.

How could you not be in a better mood if you feel good and look great? Get out there now and create optimal health through regular exercise.

To the average person, the concept of getting along with yourself seems almost foreign and they just don’t get the need for help for relationships.

In actuality, it means self-conflict, negative self-talk and all the emotions that accompany our self-esteem and how we view ourselves in comparison to others. That in itself is a negative thought process in that we are unique individuals who don’t need to compare ourselves to others. Of course, we can admire others and desire to emulate them in how they are perceived by other people and how successful and happy they exude.

If your life isn’t all you’d like it to be you can reverse it and start on a path of reflection and the goal of inner-peace.

Once you have decided you’re a darned nice person and who you are is pleasing to you, then you’re ready to be all you can to others. You can be a good friend, co-worker, a good partner or spouse and parent. When you have learned how to manage yourself and your emotions you can be effective at managing your relationships with others.

Communicate Well and your Life Will Flow Smoothly
Someone who is not adept at communication is pretty much like a ship without a rudder. You are not going to be able to steer your life in the direction you’d prefer to go.

If you can’t verbalize your feelings and thoughts to another it makes it very difficult for that person because they may sit and attempt to discuss a conflict or challenge they are having with you, yet someone who is non-communicative simply says, in their best interpretation of a 4-year old child, “I don’t know.”

What does that mean, “I don’t know?”

If someone is being difficult or seems angry with you and you’re making an attempt to get to the underlying problem, it’s maddening to hear them respond to your queries with, “I don’t know.”

To the person trying very hard to open up the lines of communication it’s a “wanting to tear your hair out moment.” For the person who can only answer “I don’t know,” I’d ask them, “Well, if you don’t know, who does?”

When the other person trying in vain to evoke some kind of emotion or answer from the person who has no clue how to communicate it can be very frustrating. The person who is “verbally challenged” would be well-advised to take a course in communication or perhaps seek counseling of some kind to learn some communication skills.

It’s so refreshing to have a discussion with someone who is clear, concise and knows how to get their message across in a minute or less.

Of course conversations among friends, relatives and co-workers can take hours and be very stimulating and entertaining. When you’re having a great conversation with someone, the time seems to fly and you suddenly realize you’ve been talking for a long time but it seemed like only minutes.

The opposite end of the spectrum is conversing with someone who can’t verbalize feelings or emotions. A five-minute discussion can seem like days and can create more stress while you wait what seems like an eternity for some kind of response. If you’re like me, you do your best to avoid those moments.

Setting Goals Together
Whether it’s goal-setting with a spouse, partner or business associate in respect to creating a smooth and cohesive level of communication, it’s very important because studies have shown that cooperation and having the same goals helps any relationship survive the ups and downs that are inevitable.

Always keep in mind there is no such thing as perfection. As human beings we are in a constant state of improvement on a personal level and that includes our relationships with others.

It is very important that you feel comfortable in verbalizing what your specific desires are in the relationship as well as listening and understanding the wants and needs of the other person or persons.

Take time to compromise, be clear on what each person’s goals are within the relationship and be willing and open to change. Talking together and creating a goal-setting plan shows you are interested and care about the other person’s needs for a fruitful and happy relationship, realizing both of you are different yet willing to accept the differences in each other.

Improving your Life and Relationships
Care for yourself by loving and respecting who you are inside and out. Be kind and give yourself gifts of time to relax, unwind and even indulge yourself in what you may believe are frivolous things like massages, yoga classes or meditation. Everyone needs “you” time.

Take walks, read interesting books, listen to music that makes you feel good and spend time with positive people who have many of the same interests.

If you begin to feel frustrated then you need to find out what is causing it and deal with the root of the problem immediately. Controlling your emotions is not taking care of the challenge. You need to solve the problem that is bringing up feelings of frustration.

Be Kind To Your Mind
Pay attention to your ‘self-talk,’ and make sure it’s not negative in nature.

Positive self-talk is good, negative is self-defeating and no constructive.

Be aware of your cognitions in determining how you treat others including yourself. Keep a notebook and every time you have a thought whether positive or negative about yourself or someone else, write it down and go back to it later and think about why and how you formed the specific thought.

What was the circumstance, what was going on at the time either with yourself or an interaction with someone else?

Try a sort of experiment by reading the negative thoughts and transform them into something positive. In NLP or neuro-lingustic programming, that is called “reframing.”

Take something negative and turn it into a new and positive picture. You may also make an attempt to consider why you were thinking those thoughts and be aware the next time it happens so you can instantly reframe and replace negative feelings with positive ones.

Are you attached or detached from feelings?

How secure or insecure do you feel?

Be Present
The person who others perceive as aloof and not ‘present’ in conversations is truly avoiding relationships. They never seem to really trust others and people pick up on it right away and begin to avoid being around them.

Many people grew up with abandonment issues from childhood and bring those issues into their adult lives. They appear to others as controlling, angry, abusive and even smothering, demanding attention to their needs at all times yet not seeming to care about the feelings or needs of those around them.

These are all attachments to certain feelings that have somehow given that person the feeling they are getting some reward from their behavior.

Keep in mind, if you’re unhappy because you think your spouse, partner, friends or associates don’t give you what you believe you must have to be happy, that’s your ‘stuff’ and they can’t make you happy no matter how hard they try. Eventually, they will give up and you’ll get what you fear most-being abandoned.

Although you have brought all of this upon yourself it takes time and effort to work through these emotional crutches and recognize the cause.

It will take work and patience but with time you can be the person you desire to be and have happy, fruitful relationships with everyone around you.

Once you decide to receive help in relationships, you’ll be shocked how quickly they become magical.

Many company leaders never think of using the award/reward system because they feel it may be too costly especially in today’s world of a stressed economy. However, it is my belief from past experience that this is something too vital in a company culture to dismiss. It may cost less to have an award/reward system that creates an atmosphere of eager employees vying for awards so they do all they can to out-perform one another than to make the decision not to put it in motion.

Employees who feel unappreciated and unrewarded for their excellent work soon join the ranks of those who just do enough to ‘get by’ and avoid being fired. Once that begins, it’s an insidious, unspoken mindset that says, “Don’t bother being great, no one will care anyway.”

This attitude can create a boring, uninspired team of slackers who only want a paycheck and could care less about great performance. Remember, the company culture and attitudes come directly from above.

There’s a large financial services company that was founded in the 70′s by an ex-high school football coach. He’s now retired to live in luxury but when he was at the helm of the company his team members would practically faint if they received a t-shirt from him during an award presentation at company conventions.

Imagine, a $10 t-shirt being more highly prized than thousands of dollars. Of course, it had to do with what he had created as a company culture but also the fact that he was motivating, uplifting and cared about his people and they knew it was from the heart.

He was no pushover by any means, but even when he was calling someone a “Dadgum Dead Butt,” people just accepted it, knew they had better shape up and it actually motivated them to perform better.

Giving Awards Can Go A Long Way
An award/reward signifies to the person receiving it that they are special and their hard work is being recognized. Naturally, if a company can afford cash rewards that is a huge motivator.

In this economy, imagine the excitement of receiving a few hundred extra dollars. Don’t you think when the other employees see the award presentation and know there is money to be made by improving and excelling at job performance more people will begin to shine?

Better job performance can bring in more money for the company and ensure longevity and improve the company “brand.”

New Hires
When people go to work for a new employer there is nothing worse than a low-level manager telling them, “Here’s your desk, here’s what you need to do so get busy.” No matter how many college degrees someone has earned and no matter how great a job they did at their previous company in the same position with a similar job description, each company has different rules and ways of doing different tasks.

Shoving a company handbook in a new employees hand and expecting them to be up to speed in the first week is not only a mistake, but unwise. Perhaps the new person is a self-starter and can figure out things on their own, but many aren’t so why start them off at a disadvantage?

If several new people have just been hired you could hold a few days of company orientation and they can support one another in getting up to speed. In the case of only one new hire, choose someone who has a similar job description, make sure they will be considerate, show an interest in the new hire and help them for a few days until they are familiar with the day to day tasks and projects.

Giving people a clear, concise pathway to success from the very beginning will make it easier for them to assimilate into the company and start off on the right foot. Giving them an overview of how competence and excellence will bring them rewards can have someone off and running, eager to please and the potential of becoming an employee most companies would love to have on the payroll.

By continually training your team, you will immediately give them the tools they will need for them to receive a leadership award.

Communicate What Is Expected
Make sure all employees are kept informed of the long-term plans of the company, the corporate vision, mission and any major developments that are in play. An open door policy does wonders for company participation and allowing workers to discuss issues or ideas with upper-management will help the team see the business and leaders as caring and compassionate.

Any new and innovative idea presented by an employee that could save the company money or increase productivity should be addressed immediately and if implemented, the employee with the suggestion or idea should be rewarded and done in a public setting during a company meeting or convention.

Higher levels of employee engagement and interest in helping the company move forward creates better productivity, better service and a lower attrition rate for workers. This can make the award/reward system even more important and worthy of some extra time and money.

Tips for Dynamic Recognition of Peak Performance
An established outline for what performance or projects completed would bring about an award or reward should be readily available so employees understand what it will take to receive the perks of a job well-done.

Each employee must be eligible and qualify equally for the awards.

Those who perform at a level above the others will be rewarded according to what they have done.

Make sure the reward/award is given soon after the performance or action was taken that met the criteria for excellence.

Never allow favoritism or let managers pick and choose from their “favorites” who receives the kudos and/or award. It should never be an “it’s my turn to be rewarded” scenario. When that happens, it smacks of favoritism and loses the power of something special.

The old “Employee of the Month” is so overused and rather meaningless in corporate cultures today.

Make it a surprise if possible unless it’s a contest. Of course, it never hurts to have an occasional company contest if possible, especially when sales is involved.

“Top Salesperson of the Week,” month or year can be exciting, especially when there is a money prize at the other end.

Going to lunch with the boss should be a special event to be valued. Sometimes, a boss has been kind enough to take all their employees, if it’s a small company, on a monthly basis.

Eventually, it becomes just one more thing to do and no one really appreciates it. Some may even begin to think of it as an entitlement and if and when the boss changes the routine there may be lots of resentment in the ranks.

In other words, think of something important like recognizing an employee who closes the most sales on the phone without having to go to a one-on-one meeting with the prospect. Or someone who comes up with an idea that saves the company thousands of dollars. Don’t announce a contest or let anyone know you’re even noticing, then check the records and call a company meeting in the boardroom and honor the employee with a few minutes of kudos then present them with an award/reward of some kind.

Be creative and always let them know you care.

Your employees will not only realize you’re very aware of who is performing well but additionally whose performance is average and ordinary because they didn’t get recognition.

Leadership awards could be enough to get their attention and even create an improved work ethic.

They may be educated, intelligent and capable yet be disordered, anxious and live a life of scarcity and lack in their finances and relationships.

The impact of stress can hinder growth in every part and dimension of your life. It all begins between the ears in your mind. Your mind is the CEO and controller of every, single action you take, for the good or bad. If your mind is in chaos your body, spirit and everything around you is a result of your anxiety and disorder.

Stressed out people are difficult to be around. They react instantly to some perceived verbal attack or what would otherwise be considered a benign comment made by a friend, associate or relative. They fight with everyone including family, colleagues and sometimes the wrong person like their bosses, eventually finding themselves unemployed.

Unfortunately, they have no idea what they did and usually perceive themselves as a victim of someone out to get them.

Workplace stress is something everyone lives with on a daily if not hourly basis. There’s no way to get around the fact that we are human beings and humans are often difficult to get along with. Perhaps you are not up to the task of what your job entails. You may need more training but are too afraid to ask for help.

There may be deadlines you must make but have a problem with procrastination. You may put things off until the last moment, do a shoddy job and turn in your work only to be called to your manager’s office the next day.

In this economy, you could be one of the 56% of Americans who is virtually ‘under-employed.’ You’re working your butt off for pay you wouldn’t have accepted ten years ago, but now you’re at the mercy of the economy so you can’t afford to quit. So you’re stuck and resentful. More stress to pile on to the heap you’re already sitting on.

Managing Work-Related Stress
If someone had a pill that instantly removed stress they’d be a “gazillionaire.” Yes, there are medications one can take that take the edge off, but occasionally you can end up in a stupor and that’s not conducive to a productive day at work. Walking around like a zombie isn’t the answer to stress.

Stress is simply part of our lives that cannot be removed but we can learn how and acquire tools to help ourselves lower and get to a position where we don’t allow stress to impact our lives.

Managing stress can help us lead happy and productive lives. Having the discipline to know what your “stressors” are and how to alleviate them is something you can learn and put in practice immediately.

Living a life where you’ve created ‘systems,’ time management plans and the resources you need to put a solid plan together will remove stress from your life and keep you on track emotionally and physically.

Manage Yourself Effectively
This is exactly what ‘stress management’ is all about. Analyze your lifestyle, set your goals and priorities, and concentrate on the things in that give you the most reward. Those priorities are where you need to spend your times.

Procrastination is a huge stress related challenge many people face. Those who put everything off until the last minute seem to almost get a thrill from going to the edge of the cliff then at the last minute, finish the task at hand and once more they are saved from falling off the proverbial cliff.

Once you overcome procrastination you can be more in control of your life and have a much greater ability to perform daily tasks and complete short-term and long-term projects in record time without waiting until the last minute.

There are great books, CD courses and even live webinars given by experts on time management that would be of great help to the tried and true procrastinator. Even if you don’t have that particular challenge, you may find resources and ideas through these courses that can make you even more productive.

Attitude is Everything
A positive and dedicated attitude could be the major key to your success. If you live a life with a “can do” attitude instead of allowing yourself to wallow in stress and self-pity you will be able to deal with anything that gets in your way, handle it instantly and move on.

Nothing can hold you back if you keep a clear head and the mental attitude that you are a winner and life’s little ups and downs is not going to keep you from reaching your goals.

You’re not a one man or woman Army. Learn the fine art of delegation. There are tons of ‘little things’ that get in your way that one must handle each and every day. Turning over some lesser things to your subordinates will not make you a poor leader. In fact, it will make you a better one because they can take over small stuff that keeps you from attending to the ‘bigger stuff.’

They will be happy to lend a helping hand, thus you can be free to keep up with all your commitments, making each day better than the last in relieving your personal stress.

When You’re Not Happy, Nobody’s Happy
A tired, stressed out person who stays in a constant state of stress and frustration can be affected and feel the impact of anything and everything. You’ll become sleep-deprived, you may turn to food in order to fill the void and for many, eating is an emotional crutch. You can end up overweight and your health can and will begin to decline.

When you’re unhappy because of stress you may begin a negative spiral downward by putting all your attention on what isn’t done instead of figuring out how to get them done by asking for help. You end up losing sleep, time, energy and focus.

Your life is at a point where it pretty much sucks. But only you can turn it around.

Your mind and the way you view your outer and inner world affect not only your attitude but the negative things you may be giving your energy to that are not serving you well.

Being stuck in a negative rut will force you to keep looking at the same unimportant things that are holding you back rather than helping you move forward. Your mind is not your friend in many ways because when you’re in ‘negative mode’ you keep looking for reasons that support your idea that you’re stressed and have no way of getting out of it.

Again, some classes, books or CDs on time and/or stress management can be huge tools for you to get out of your rut and stay out. Keep a journal of everything that goes right each day. Even if it’s something you consider unimportant or inane, make a note of it.

Read it over several times during the day and try to come up with more positive things that have happened. Did you go to a mall full of cars but magically you pull right into a space right in front of the main entrance? Think of anything and everything that will pull your thoughts from negativity to something positive.

The more you keep up with this practice the sooner you’ll realize that nothing that formerly caused you stress was all that important. It’s the little things that can mean the most. Dwell on the good and the bad will disappear.

Pretty soon you’ll be in a continual state of a higher and better mood, you’re brain will begin sending out those endorphins that make you feel great and each day will be a wonderful adventure you’ll look forward to instead of dreading.

By using personal development techniques for stress management, you will soon take both your personal and business life to a whole new level.

In the world of marketing techniques, whether online or offline, the business owner can make many mistakes and lose huge amounts of money that could be spent on hiring another employee, purchasing more products or simply keeping it safely in the bank. Profits can be reduced and what may follow could be stress and a lack of productivity.

The most important thing to understand is without a clear and concise marketing plan you’re out there floundering around throwing marketing ideas against the proverbial wall, “hoping something sticks.” No successful business person begins a marketing campaign without a plan.

It’s vital to do small marketing trials to using several techniques until you find one or more that is the most effective. Below are some tips for discovering what works and what doesn’t so you keep your losses to a minimum.

Define Your Market and Demographic
Who are the people most likely to purchase your product or service? What is the average age of your past client base or in general, the age of clients you are targeting? With laser-like accuracy you need to determine what works and hone in on that specific market.

When business owners or marketers use the “shotgun” method of marketing you will waste time and money contacting non-target market people who won’t even consider what you are offering.

Professional Marketing Materials
If you don’t have the software or programs to create business cards, flyers, tri-fold marketing pieces and other information you can physically place in the hands of potential customers you are making yourself and your business look cheap and cheesy.

Paying someone to create professional looking marketing pieces and having them printed at Kinko’s or other places (check around for the most inexpensive) will serve you well and even if you’re a one-person business you can look as up-scale as one with hundreds of employees.

Remember that a first impression is the most important impression. When a potential customer sees a simple, cheap looking flyer they know you made on your computer using the most rudimentary of software programs they have an immediate, visceral feeling of believing you’re “small potatoes.”

Obviously, a professional designed website is now a necessity in today’s online environment to conduct business.

However, the flashiest and most fancy marketing pieces can be useless if you don’t get your message across. Your prospect must be able to read it and within minutes completely understand what you are offering or selling.

I’ve seen marketing pieces that someone who didn’t quite ‘get it’ actually left off the phone number and/or the website. If a potential customer has no idea how to take your materials, go to the phone and pick it up and call you they will NOT bother trying to find you.

Your Marketing Plan
Sit down and create a marketing plan that has a purpose, a time frame and set your goals for how many sales or customers you would like to acquire in a certain period of time. Do your homework. It may take doing research online or by purchasing books, CDs or DVDs on how to set up a good marketing plan.

Ask people you know who are successful how to put a good marketing campaign in motion. Of course, your competition may not be on board with giving you advice on how to take away some of their business, but you will find lots of mentors in other fields who will be glad to help.

There are so many online “gurus” who do teleseminars and webinars on the subject you’ll have no problem finding someone who can give you some tips and ideas.

Whatever marketing tools and plan you use, make sure to follow through. The follow through is the big secret most people skip. You can’t just do one marketing campaign and expect success. Your first few may be dismal failures so don’t quit before you find the sweet spot that begins to bring you those valuable customers and clients you need.

Romance Your Prospects
This may sound strange but you need to ‘court’ potential clients, customers or business associates. The whole idea is to win the hearts and minds of those you have targeted as your perfect demographic.

In some business models there is no age group but instead, as in the case of those looking for people to join them in a home-based business, you’re looking for someone who wants and needs to make more money. That is a huge demographic, especially in this chaotic economy.

On the other hand, this group of people is continually hammered by your competition so you are in essence marketing ‘yourself’ to them.

They must like you, trust you and feel like you are someone they’d love to build a business together.

They cannot be pushed, rushed or feel pressured or they will turn the other way and run.

They won’t return your calls and you may as well lose their contact information.

Take your time (we’re not talking months or years here) but give them a chance to look over everything and come back to you, ready to get started. Of course, a small ‘nudge’ if they seem on the verge of a decision but don’t quite commit won’t hurt.

Your Target Market
Perhaps you’ve been chasing shadows or people who are more of a fantasy market. A friend of mine says, “Start collecting minnows before you go for the whales.” That means you may want to sell to or approach a high-powered business person who owns a huge company or at least has a high position within the organization.

You imagine bringing them on board as a client and with one fell swoop you’ve hit the Mother Lode.

Many people have chased and chased the big dream only to be bitterly disappointed when the deal falls through. Instead, go for the little fish and sell to them until you have built a quality and large client base until one day that big whale comes back around and agrees to do business with you.

All it takes is one and if you make them happy they will recommend you to their big-time associates.

Know Your Market
Don’t be so self-absorbed or blinded you don’t pay attention to a prime and potential client when one is staring you in the face. Become a student of human nature.

Turn yourself into an expert in your target market so you can recognize opportunity the moment it walks into your field of vision. Be ready to respond and engage them in conversation.

Do not ‘pitch’ them after the first “hello.” It is also a very bad idea to put the sales moves on someone you just met in front of a group of people.

You can develop a reputation as someone who will pitch anyone, anywhere at the most awkward moments in the absolute wrong settings. Trying to sell someone on your services at cousin Sue’s wedding is really a very bad idea.

Buying Signals
When someone begins asking you questions about what you do or what your products or services are for Pete’s sake tell them.

Be prepared to have professional and clear answers to their questions so you don’t stumble over your words. Be short, concise and get your message across in thirty seconds or less.

Pay attention to what they ask and be prepared to tell them what they need to know. If they are interested you will know it and then be ready to ‘let them off the hook’ and suggest you get together for lunch at their convenience.

By following these marketing techniques, you will respond professionally and your prospects will not only appreciate it but will probably become a client.

We all strive for success financially, yet how many Americans are tuned into health awareness also put that that same energy into making sure our health and bodies are at peak performance?

What’s the point of being successful and having enough money to do what you want to do when you want to do it but your body and ill-health keep you from enjoying the rewards of your labor?

Imagine you’re meeting friends or family at a five-star resort and instead of being able to get out there with them and enjoy all the activities that include a certain amount of physical fitness, you are forced to sit on the sidelines and cheer everyone else on while you sit like a lump on a chaise lounge or chair, wishing you could have fun with everyone else.

Certainly for some, relaxing on a chaise lounge could be what you consider the perfect scenario — and if you’re healthy and have worked hard so you can go to some exotic place and relax, that’s fine. But you’re not being forced to do so because your body will not allow you to exert the energy necessary to swim, play golf, tennis or simply run and splash in the water at a beach.

It’s never too late to say, “I’m sorry” to yourself and your body for all the years of excess and physical abuse from the wrong food, too much alcohol or smoking. If you still want to turn things around and be a participant in life, it’s never too late to get started.

The most important first step is to give a close and hard look at what you put into your body.

The body that has served you so well for all these years is a magical machine. It will do its’ best for you including carry around huge amounts of excess weight until it can no longer sustain the load and your health will begin to decline. It’s your body telling you to wake up and pay attention.

Fueling Your Machine
Because your body is a machine, you must give it the best quality fuel to keep it running and/or to begin feeding it what is necessary to repair the damage you’ve done by stuffing it full of fast-food, the wrong kind of fats and the worst culprit of all-sugar.

Empty calories have taken over 60% of Americans into the world of the overweight and obese. Many people look at fat or obese people and “blame” them for their plight. Certainly there are those who are food addicts just as there are drug and alcohol addicts. What some don’t understand is that many overweight Americans are somewhat victimized by their genetics.

It’s not easy to watch skinny people stuff whatever they like into their mouths and be an overweight person, knowing no one is going to notice anything a thin person eats, yet if you are among the overweight, people will instantly stare at what a fat person is eating, immediately judge them and say they are weak, sloppy, disgusting and all they have to do is stop eating.

Well, “those people” are uninformed and ignorant of chemistry, genetics and DNA. Yes, an alcoholic can stop drinking and a drug addict can go to rehab and hopefully stop doing drugs. The overweight person must eat just like everyone else needs to in order to sustain life.

It’s more a question of education and for the person who is has allowed themselves to sink to a level of poor physical health and fitness, or another who has reached a level of overweight so high it seems an impossible task to start and stick to a weight-loss regimen.

Learning what is the right foods are and in what amounts to eat them is a process that must be taken on with commitment. Whether your health has suffered from inactivity and eating the wrong foods or if you’re someone who truly needs to lose a huge amount of weigh, it all begins with food and educating yourself on what are good calories, how many carbohydrates to eat, etc. The best thing to do is to begin with a visit with your doctor and possibly a session with a dietician.

Yes, it’s a rough road and many people resist what it takes to get on track and sustain the level of commitment necessary to reach your goals whether it be regaining your health or reducing your weight.

Watch The Stress
Stress can be a killer even for someone who seems fit, has a normal weight and feels fine most of the time. Every day we hear of someone in their 40’s or 50’s dropping dead of a heart attack. Many times, vital people who never knew there was a physical problem at all, but they lived and worked in a stressful environment. Taking time out to relax body and mind is important in creating a balanced life.

Understanding what stress does to the body is vital to knowing what to do to reduce that stress. Stress causes the body to create something called Cortisol, which causes weight-gain, especially around the mid-section of the body. It could benefit you greatly to look up the meaning of Cortisol and also do some reading up on the ravages of stress on the human body.

Below are some things you can do to reduce stress and simplify your life. Simple is good.

Get Off The Computer and Turn Off Your Cell Phone
Do everything possible to stop surfing the net for hours on end. Okay, so check your email three times per day instead of twenty. Go on Facebook for half an hour instead of staying up till the early hours of the morning. What’s so darn great about playing Farmville anyway?

Cut back on as much technology as possible and even though it may be hard at first, do your best not to watch the news. You know the old saying; “No news is good news?” Well, it’s not.

Cut Out The Processed Foods and Eat ‘Raw’ As Much As Possible
It may make you feel like screaming to give up the foods you think you have to eat, but take baby steps. Try salads, lightly steamed or stir-fried veggies (just a touch of Olive oil or Flax oil) and some fresh fruits. You can “cheat” once in a while of course, but soon you may not even have the desire for anything you know is literally killing you.

Re-Discover “Mother Nature”
Take a walk. Even if you can only make it twenty feet the first time! Walk, ride a bike, do anything fun that takes you outdoors and moves your body. So many people live close to the most gorgeous places like canyons, forests, beautiful bodies of water yet they never even get in the car and drive out of town to take in the amazing gifts nature has to offer.

Catch Up On Sleep
Make sure you get eight hours of sleep per day. That doesn’t count naps. Not getting at least eight hours of rest per night creates stress and that dratted Cortisol. Don’t watch television in your bedroom. Keep the technology in another room.

Only you can turn your physical negatives into positives. Make a plan, stick to it and within six-months to a year or less you can be fit and turn illnesses around and love your body enough to take it back to a place of optimum health.

By using basic health awareness, your body will thank you by making sure you live a long, happy and healthy life.

They are in such a state there is no realization they’re airing their “dirty laundry” in public. Anger has removed all the filters that may have stopped them from losing control of their communication in relationships.

Perhaps you’ve been divorced and your ex-wife/husband would like to get back together yet they have not changed what caused the break-up in the first place. What should you do? You may work with someone who gets on your last nerve but nothing you do seems to stop their irritating behavior. How in the world can you do something to change what is causing you frustration and stress?

How about starting with honesty? There’s an old expression that says, “The truth hurts.” It can if presented in a way that is hurtful and confrontational yet done in a kind and thoughtful way can help you and also raise the consciousness of the person you are hoping will listen to you and do what they can to change how they behave.

Honesty is good. Lying is bad. Don’t you teach your children not to lie? Most people lie because they are afraid of the consequences and would rather tell a lie than make someone angry or even hurt someone else’s feelings.

Different Levels of Truth
You can spin your truth in many directions yet honest and heart-felt truth is always the best. A realtor may put an ad in a paper describing a house as “cozy” but that usually means the house is tiny. A man placing an ad in a dating magazine may describe himself as built like a bear, when he’s actually quite overweight.

People may tell you about a party they attended and say, “Wow, that was some kind of party,” and in reality it was a real snore. What they’re doing is saying it was a good party just so they don’t hurt the host/hostess’ feelings if it gets back to them that you said “he said” the party was boring. There’s nothing wrong with being kind but overstating something just to be nice makes you feel deep inside that you are not being truthful and you may even feel a slight twinge of guilt.

State your own truth because it’s yours and no one else’s.

Your ‘truth’ is merely your opinion. It could be that you feel something is right or wrong and someone else may look at the same thing from a totally opposite angle. Neither is right or wrong, it only has to do with what you or that other person feels about the same situation.

Let’s say you have a dear friend who is now treating you disrespectfully or being downright mean. You have no idea why and when you ask them why they say, “Never mind, it doesn’t matter.” Yes, it DOES matter and many people use their bad behavior to manipulate others to get what they want or they won’t be pleased. You have no idea how to get at the truth because they are not ready to tell you what it is you may or may not have done to make them angry.

In reality, you probably didn’t do anything but they are using you to deflect their anger and place the blame for their own unhappiness on someone else. If your friendship is still of value to you then it’s worth the effort to get them to sit down and discuss the situation.

Should they say they aren’t willing to talk to you and get things back on track, let it go and move on. Give them some space until they wake up or in some cases you may have to release the relationship and move on.

Approaching Truth From The Heart
There can be times when you want to tell someone something that may cause them to feel uncomfortable so you choose to start with a small element of the truth. You may decide to take part of the challenge or issue you have with them in increments instead of laying it all on them at once. You also may choose to say nothing but that could raise your stress level if they have done something that really bothers you.

A good idea would be to look inside and decide what your ‘heart’ may be telling you to do or say. Considering the other person’s heart is also important. If in voicing your opinion or confronting them with something has no value to either one of you or may hurt them you may take more time to consider how to frame what you would like to say to them. If your heart isn’t in it then perhaps your inner voice is telling you it’s not the whole truth and you may decide to let it go or keep it to yourself.

If your heart is not in something to do with your relationship with someone else then back off and allow the urge to pass instead of jumping into a situation you can’t get out of. Words can never be taken back. People remember things people told them for decades and can’t release the hurt they felt by hearing those words from someone they loved or respected. Words can injure someone at a soul-level and should be thought out before spoken.

So How Can You Speak Your Truth?
What is it you want and what is bothering you? It may be something so small you should just allow it to blow away in the wind. If it’s something very hurtful or important you have a right as a human being to speak what has hurt you and why. Keeping unspoken hurts to yourself for many years can harm you emotionally and physically.

Some people are so self-absorbed they are shocked when you bring it up and tell them how you feel. Their truth may be very shallow and “all about them.” Or they may have simply been having a bad day and you were close by and a convenient way for them to vent.

Either way if you value the relationship, especially if it’s a family member just lay your emotional cards on the table and ask them to sit down in a setting that is comfortable to both of you and gently begin your discussion with them. You may have to be the one who takes the high road and also assumes the role of the adult in the equation but sometimes we just have to do what we have to do to make peace.

Besides, once they are aware of how you feel they may (hopefully) realize what they did or said that hurt you and apologize. Then again, they may not but you’ll feel much better because you finally got it off your chest. You will also know that you came from the heart, did nothing to injure or shame the other person and plain and simple, you did the best you could. You were straight-forward, honest and should not feel ashamed.

You may even gain more respect from them because they now understand what they did and admire you for being kind enough to speak to them from a heart-centered place instead of yelling at them or confronting them in anger.

Communication in relationships can be trying, yet being “in your truth” at all times can make them a lot more pleasant and joyous.

A great work environment is the result of a great leadership strategy. The culture in any company is created by the intelligent and thoughtful management of the organization. When staffers are friendly, proactive, have goals of productivity and make others feel warm and accepted it is the direct result of excellent leadership.

Whereas, if a company environment is staffed by angry, frustrated and continually agitated people who gossip and mistrust one another it is the result of sub-par and extremely poor leadership.

The latter company culture probably has a huge attrition rate of employees unless because of our economy they stay because they don’t think they can find another job. In that case productivity will suffer, people will be worn out, tired and unhappy, which also invites lots of people taking time off because their work environment can also make them physically ill.

In either case, the company culture is in direct relation to the quality of the leadership.

Great Cultures Come from Great Leaders
Years ago when I actually worked a job, I can recall several companies that were a chore to work with each and every day. They had little or no leadership, just bosses who did everything they could to make sure someone had a miserable day just to make themselves feel better and give them that little power boost that told them they were important.

A great leader has an ‘open-door’ policy when it comes to subordinates they take lots of time and investment to hold themselves to a higher standard and without being aggressive, makes sure the staff desires to hold themselves to that same level of competence and performance each day.

Great leaders learn the names of their employees and they greet them as they pass in the hallways, lunch room or conference rooms. When an employee performs well on a project or task the leader takes the time not only to recognize it but may present a certificate of excellence or even a financial reward.

When an employee is not performing well and/or is making mistakes or slacking off, a great leader will not shame or embarrass them but instead will give them counsel along with retraining if that is possible.

In essence, a great leader is the heart and soul of the work environment and the company culture.

Work Environments that Leave Much to be Desired
It takes as much effort to create a poor, negative work environment and company culture as it does a positive one, so why not go for greatness?

When the ‘fearless leader’ of a company has ‘left the building,’ is unavailable both physically and mentally, has too many irons in the fire including reports, business trips, projects, budgets, you name it, they are not the picture of even a good leader. They are mediocre at best.

The humanity of the corporate culture must be attended to each and every day. Employees and customers alike take time and focus from a great leader instead of “stuff.”

The staffers will model their leader and may be arrogant, uncaring, rude and unavailable. Unfortunately, the “me” mentality will replace the team vision and mentality and sabotage and lack of caring will bring a company to its knees very rapidly.

When there is a lack of caring about co-workers and customers it shows to everyone on the outside. A cohesive company culture is non-existent and revenues will suffer as well as any employee who does care about doing a good job.

Eventually, they will leave if they can and all that will be left is a group of whiny, self-centered cry babies.

The self-absorbed leader may soon be forced to begin looking for other employment as the owners or board of directors becomes aware of the hostile work environment, lack of performance and a downturn in revenue.

Poor leaders are the ones who never know the names of employees and don’t really care. There is never eye contact unless they are berating someone. Should any employee do something exceptional there will probably be no recognition or reward because the poor leader simply expects everyone to do their job and don’t expect anything more than a paycheck.

Negative vibes occur when the poor leader finds out someone did something wrong or didn’t perform well on a project and fail to act appropriately.

Instead of a private counseling session, they would probably yell at them in front of the whole office and order them to clean out their desk and leave. In such a negative work environment, even the best employees soon lower their expectations and join the gang of slackers and mediocrity.

Are You a Great Leader or a Poor Leader?
Do you respect your employees and show them you care who they are, how they feel and get to know them on a personal level?

When they outperform others do you openly congratulate them and present them with a prize for excellence?

Are your staffers on board with your believe in a higher level of job performance and do they understand it is expected?

Is your staff happy and eager to come to work? How often do you hold company events like parties or picnics?

You can demand respect and at the same time be someone who your staffers admire and choose to emulate.

Be the Leader You’d Want to Have Lead You
It’s never too late to create a dynamic and successful company culture. Whatever mistakes you’ve made in the past can be fixed.

Imagine the surprise when you announce all the new changes that will make your company a place where applications are piling up from people who have heard about your company and can’t wait to be hired.

Below are a few tips you may consider should you desire to improve the working environment of your company.

Sit down and make a detailed assess of yourself and your company team so you can determine where any weaknesses might be hiding that are keeping you from creating that positive culture and work environment.

Create a battle plan to improve what is not working and figure out how to take yourself and team to a higher level of production in small increments until you have the big picture fleshed out first in your mind, then put it in action.

Invite your team to get involved in the planning and make sure to allow them to make suggestions for improvement. You may be surprised to find someone or several people who have brilliant ideas that could turn your company into one of power and super-performance.

Be the role model of the exact company culture you’d like to see come to fruition.

Make sure your plans include long-term ideas that will be permanent not just some new “program of the week.”

Never, ever compromise your ethics or expectations of creating a culture of success.

Make it understood that incompetence and sub-par performance will not be tolerated or excused. Keep note of any team member who is not on board with the plan and don’t allow them to get off message. If they are worthy of taking your time to counsel them on how to perform at the expected level, then give them that time.

By improving on the atmosphere and working conditions within your company you can implement your leadership strategy and find yourself at the helm of an outstanding company others begin to notice and emulate.

For a personal development definition, one must go back to early childhood. As babies, we totally rely on our parents because we cannot meet even the most basic of our needs. The two people who brought us into the world are the ones who begin shaping our personalities, ideas and culture.

If we could go back and “choose” our parents of course we would pick those who have a higher level of consciousness and awareness so from infancy to young adult ready to leave the nest we have experienced the “perfect” life from two loving and caring parents. As life would have it no one has ever been able to pick from a list of potential parents exactly who will raise us with no suffering or pain on our part.

There is a school of thought that on a soul level we do choose our parents before we land on planet earth because they are the two from whom our life lessons will be learned that will lead us to become who we are supposed to be, for good or bad.

If life was perfect from the time of our conception until we leave the nest, we would live in a world of perfect “Stepford people,” and that might be rather boring.

Even those who live rather hard lives can become successful and happy if they choose to let go of any and all negativity associated with their childhoods and make the decision that they are now capable adults who can use the lessons they learned even if they were negative or painful and take those lessons and turn their lives into something wonderful.

Of course, there are those who dwell on their childhoods and never let go of any of the negativity of whatever they experienced and make everyone pay for how they perceive they were treated, real or not. We all have memories of negative moments while we were growing up, yet for most people it’s easier to move on and let go of the past rather than allow the past to rule and ruin your adult life.

“The past is history and the future is a mystery. That is why they call this the present.”

Grow Up and Forgive Your Parents for Doing the Best They Could
So you had a rough childhood-millions of people did and at this very moment millions of children are having a very hard time of it.

Becoming self-aware by deciding to move on will be a life-changing moment. If you forgive those who caused you pain or suffering, you are the one who wins.

Forgiveness does not negate what they did or what you believe they did to harm you, but it gives you freedom and releases you from the bonds that keep you stuck in a place you’d rather leave.

Growing up physically, mentally and emotionally, we begin to transform like a butterfly into a unique human being who would like to create something significant for themselves and others.

As we move through our lives and old age sets in, we begin to fall back into a state of dependence and hopefully if you’ve raised a good and loving family you will have the support and care from your children. In some cases where your life has been one of chaos and dysfunction with your family and others, you may find yourself at the end of life alone in a facility for the elderly and no one will at your side when you make your transition from life to death.

It’s a sad thing to be at the end of life alone when all you had to do was work on being the best person you could be and treat others with love and respect. That is definitely a time where “too little too late,” is a reality.

Unless your parents were abusive alcoholics or drug users, your father or mother spent time in prison or worse, they were probably trying to do the very best they could with the tools they had been given.

Sometimes when children grow up and leave home, they use the “abuse excuse” on their parents as weapons for decades, never noticing how hard their parents have tried over the years to be kind and make up for whatever transgressions their children felt they had experienced.

“You do the best you can do then when you know better, you do better.”
Maya Angelou

Break Out of that Rut and Go for the Gusto
So if you are feeling stuck in a rut and have an attitude of “I’m not successful because my parents abused me and I never got a break like other people did,” get over yourself, take responsibility for your actions or non-actions and find a way to improve your life through personal development.

For the most part it never crosses the mind of someone who is in a constant state of “victimhood.” They go through life blaming others and are actually jealous of successful people.

No matter what your personal development definition is, it more important today than at any other time in our history.

Millions of people are out of work and for those who have been unemployed for over two years, employers are actually tossing their applications in the garbage because those during those years without a job the one seeking employment has lost many of their skill-sets and are not current on what is going on in their former industry.

Instead of giving up, get up and move into working on yourself by seeking out personal development seminars, books, CDs, DVDs and if possible, find a mentor in the field that interests you the most and actively get to work making yourself a valuable commodity.

Those with the most passion and desire will be the ones who are noticed by potential employers and hired.

Personal development and growth will not only serve you well in the workplace but in every area of your life.

Our world is a complex place and just keeping up with everyone else is rather like being a hamster on a wheel. Relationships are not easy, whether personal or professional.

Someone who is in a constant state of self-improvement can keep up with any challenge that comes their way. An unprepared person is at the mercy of every problem that they face every day.

Without the knowledge and tools at hand to deal with anything we face, it’s nearly impossible to have a happy, successful and full life.

What Used to be is No More
It’s time to now rethink everything you’ve ever learned in order to make it in our world today. People are re-evaluating everything they know. What used to be the norm in the 60′s, 70′s and 80′s and even the 90′s is no longer valid.

No matter what your profession, nothing is the same as it was even a decade ago because technology and a paradigm shift in thought brought about change in everything.

People are becoming more aware, “waking up” if you will, about the fact that even though what is “outside” is developed we must now learn to develop what is “inside.”

Our thought patterns and becoming more conscious human beings will serve us well with all the chaos and upheaval in our world today.

We possess amazing capabilities that many have not yet tapped into. For those who begin the quest toward personal development there is no end to what can be accomplished.

There are those who are yet to be recognized who may well make incredible discoveries that could bring our planet and mankind back from the brink of disaster.

Just imagine, one of those people could be you — if you decide to step out of the box and discover your own personal development definition.

This is an industry that has been around for decades, many people have tried and failed yet it still thrives. There are reasons for those who succeed and for those who have failed miserably. In this economic environment, we must all look for a way to turn our dismal financial and economic situation around and get back on track.

Over 54% of Americans are underemployed, millions out of work and many have no hope. They’ve stopped thinking about the “American Dream.” It’s hard to dream if you feel you have no hope. But allow me to suggest that there is always hope and if you are tired enough of the struggle you can find ways of improving your finances and possibly bringing that American Dream back to reality in your life.

Most of Americans know about network marketing or multilevel marketing, also known as MLM. Mention the company name Amway or Mary Kay to just about anyone and they immediately have a vague understanding or misconception of the industry.

Many belong to what is called the “NFL Club,” or “No Friends Left Club.” That’s because over the many years they’ve joined and quit so many MLM opportunities, all the while bringing in their family, friends and co-workers, promising quick wealth and hardly any work because certain unscrupulous people have convinced and cajoled them into believing the hype of an ‘easy buck.’

Well, nothing is easy, there are ‘no free rides’ and as it has been said many, many times before, “If it was that easy, everyone would be rich.” Truer words have never been spoken.

Give It Another Chance – with Certain Conditions
Do your homework and due diligence. Talk to the people you know who are in the industry and have actually found success. Look around at dozens of different opportunities and decide which one is most appealing.

Is it in a product or service?

What excites you from the very beginning and holds your attention?

Is there product or service something you would be proud to show others?

Talk to their company’s leaders to make sure they have an excellent training model and get a commitment that they will not only sponsor you but from the beginning be there or assign someone in their organization to work with you personally for a few weeks until you are up to speed about the company, their products and the best way to market what they offer and how they find prospects.

Make sure they agree to do 3-way conference calls with you with prospects, if necessary, so you can get enough new associates in your first 60 days to pay for your initial cash outlay and your monthly autoship of products, if you have one set up.

Listen to the Experts
Donald Trump, Warren Buffett, Sly and Jennifer Stallone and Dr. John Gray are a few notables involved and working in the MLM industry. Of course, Donald Trump or Warren Buffet are not actively recruiting new associates, but they have put their names on certain companies and Warren Buffet reportedly owns a few MLM companies.

Donald Trump even stated that MLM is the only business that could possibly get the average person through this economic crisis.

To get started, there is little up-front expense. There may be from $50 to around $100 monthly fees for ordering product each month, but the company must move its products or be out of legal compliance. It is usually enough products for one or two people to us up without piling up in a closet or your garage.

Instead of sitting around and waiting for the economy to turn around (good luck with that), you seriously have no time to waste. Unless you’re getting used to unemployment and can’t imagine having to work again or you’re underemployed and happy allowing someone else to use your brain-power and abilities to enrich themselves while you just get more frustrated by the day, then it’s time to take action.

Added Cash for Life’s Necessities
Do you have teenagers nearing college age with no idea how you’re going to provide the money for their education?

Have you just told them college is going to have to wait so “Go out and get a job to help out the family?”

Neither scenario is a happy one or something you would ever have expected a few years ago.

Unfortunately, those days have come and gone. The excesses of the 90′s and most Americans ability to give their children anything they want no matter the cost is no longer the norm in the average family. Three cars, a boat, several vacations per year are now out of the picture for most people.

Even among those who were considered moderately wealthy have stopped buying that vacation home, don’t shop quite as much at all the upscale boutiques they frequented before the financial debacle.

Would you believe in Beverly Hills, CA there is a Pawn Shop for the rich and famous? Of course, it’s hidden and they sneak in a back door to pawn their valuables so no one will know they are also experiencing financial woes.

Yes, there are truly those who are “Down and out in Beverly Hills.”

“Too Much Month Left at the End of the Money?”
That saying has been around forever, yet right at this moment it seems too real and not funny at all. Many families are juggling their bills, “robbing Peter to pay Paul” and those among us going hungry have risen to a frightening level.

There are families who have lost their homes because they were underwater — living in a house worth 50% of what they paid for it so they were either evicted through foreclosure or decided to simply walk away. Cheap motels have become permanent homes for too many families. This is not the America we envisioned.

The pride in our country is at an all-time low. What many don’t realize is that our country is not at fault, it’s those who run it or at least that’s what we sent politicians to do. Politicians in Washington, DC live in a “bubble,” not seeing or understanding the plight of the average American and don’t seem to care as long as they keep getting the perks from the lobbyists.

So the answer is simple yet not easy. Find a good home business that peaks your interest, don’t fall prey to empty promises of instant wealth, do your homework and prepare to go to work. So you have to set aside what was formerly some television time each night (if you’re working) to devote to building your business. You also have the weekends. Starting out part-time by working only a few hours a week is the safest way to get started.

Even if it takes you six months to create a $500-$1,000 per month income or even a bit longer, how could an extra $500 per month or more impact your life.

Of course, if you are willing to go the extra mile and find a good mentor in your company, you could build your home business and have an income that exceeds that amount. There can never be any guarantees. Your home business is yours and yours alone. The amount you earn will be in direct proportion to the effort you put into creating the life you desire.

Not only could a home business bring you more income and a better lifestyle, it can create home business tax deductions and many other perks. Naturally, you should consult your tax professional for all the pertinent details of what and how to deduct certain expenses.

You are the starting point to a better life if that’s what you decide. Just make sure it’s something you enjoy, have fun doing and feel honored presenting your multilevel marketing opportunity to others.
